Spring is here-Illustrations and colors
Finally a colorful and fresh spring as I could not see for years: the colors are still vivid, thanks to a steady rain.
The light has not dust (not every day, but often).
Now I can understand the obsession of Monet to the change of light and the changing of the colors, when he was painting in Giverny.
Claude Monet said “Color is my day-long obsession, joy and torment.”
This afternoon I caught a little bit of images of blooming flowers in my tiny garden. More than the form, at the moment I’m interested in colors, cleaned by the rain, saturated and so different from each other: some colors are muted, pastel, almost fragile.
Others are violent, blinding, almost phosphorescent, reminiscent of the summer rather than the spring.
I have to hurry to catch this color palette: the heat is on the prowl and the colors fade, drying up in the sun. The atmosphere will be too humid and the dust will increase: the colors will never be so bold. everything will lose its shine and suffer the heat.
Almost like a notebook of notes, I put here the pictures that I took a few moments ago.
They will help me in my exploration of color.
Well said Monet The point is to know how to use the colours, the choice of which is, when all’s said and done, a matter of habit.
