Paper Sculptures-Dancing Grandmothers

Six paper sculptures arranged in circle: is it a round dance? Sirtaki? a gathering of Taranta? a timeless Mediterranean dance?
I worked with art catalogues:a work of art that turns into a catalog that is transformed into a new work of art.

I created six paper sculptures, made with books and at the center, Balance sculpture.

The idea comes from a book by Clarissa Pinkola Estes: Dance of the great mothers.

It is a propitiatory dance, in which we rediscover our roots to nourish and rejuvenate and be ready to dive into the global world without fear but with the added value of an identity reinforced by the opening of the new…
