Figurative Abstract Painting Contemporary art: homage to de Kooning

Last year I was a student in an online course on abstract art at MoMA, not only from a theoretical point of view but also practical.
The experience was really interesting because many artists have innovated painting starting from very ancient techniques.
One of these was undoubtedly Willem de Kooning, who was born in Rotterdam on 24 April 1904, the Netherlands, but He moved to the USA in 1926.
Willem de Kooning was working on a painting for an entire year, with oil paints, acrylics, enamels,solvent and spraying in color, kneading it with your hands or spatulas.
De Kooning often returned on the forms and colors, mixing shapes, turning, drifting: he was never satisfied, always looking for a balance.
One of his quotes: ‘The attitude that nature is chaotic and that the artist puts order into it is a very absurd point of view, I think. All that we can hope for is to put some order into ourselves.’
During the course we created several works with the techniques of the artists, of course, in a much shorter time.For this reason I used mainly enamels and acrylics, which dry quickly.
It’s a regret to have to work quickly, because you do not have enough time to reflect on the changes that occur in you while you work.
We should put aside the painting and look at it for months and then return to the surface with spatulas and brushes and fingers themselves.
However, the work on canvas in the week dedicated to de Kooning spurred me to continue on the search for forms.
