Paper cutting Art: work step by step-two young Janas

Paper cutting Art: two janas

Here is another work of paper cutting for you, two young Janas, from the original drawing to the paper cut steps.
I am sure you are wondering what is a Jana. In Sardinia (Italy), a Jana is a Fairy that lives in Domus de Janas (Sardinian House of the Fairies or of the Witches). Here a little bit of images about papercutting work step by step, from the drawing to the cut out paper, enjoy!

First step, a simple sketch. I have drawn with black pen, only the silhouette, hust the shape of the children. Than I added all the shadows, with black pen.

Here the sketch with black pen, work in progress…not too much shadows because I must cut the paper into and around the children.
